What types of Internet Connections do you have?
IQS internet connectivity is delivered via redundant fiber-optic cable to
OC-3 equipment operating at 155Mbps directly in our datacenter.
In order to insure service that is un-interrupted by network problems, we
use top of the line Cisco Routers running BGP4 for redundancy and
load-balancing.
Why don't you offer free unlimited bandwidth?
Research shows that a small percentage of sites produces the largest percentage
of the bandwidth use. With this in mind, we have adjusted our monthly transfer
quota so as to provide most sites with worry-free service.
Over 99% of our currently hosted websites do not go over this limit
(See our rates page for the actual limit).
Through our experience we have seen that sites that offer downloads of software,
picture archives, and/or other non-HTML files or popular chat rooms have a
tendency of using extra-ordinary amounts of bandwidth. If left alone, the need
for bandwidth would surpass the ability to upgrade. By charging a small fee
(one of the smallest in the industry) to compensate for the extra-ordinary use
of bandwidth, we can continue to grow and provide fast reliable bandwidth
to all sites in the years to come.
